Every year October is celebrated as a Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It is an annual campaign which is dedicated to creating the awareness of Breast cancer among the women across the globe. This campaign involves thousand of organizations which come together to create and increase the awareness of breast, research and education. Large numbers of people join this campaign and try to raise funds for the breast research.
In India, one of the most prevalent forms of cancer is the Breast cancer and it has become the major problem all over the world. Although, it can occur at any age, but women above the age of 40 yrs have more chances of developing it.
It can quickly spread to other parts of the body, so it is also a dangerous and life threatening disease. The average age of developing breast cancer has been changed from 50 – 70 years to 30 – 50 years and it accounts for 25% to 31% of all cancers in women.
Now, it’s your time to take this as a reminder and do something for your loved ones. This month, if you haven’t done the self-examination, then it’s time to learn how to do it.
